One more point -- transfer out preserves basis information, transfer in does
not.

The transaction history is not actually lost. In particular you will
find that the basis gets maintained for a sell.

However the data does not display continuously in the portfolio, so
there is some things that are hidden until you use the CG estimator
or do a Sell.

If you are moving the entire contents of one account to a new
account, I would prefer to rename the existing account, and change
the details.

It's still preserved in the original account.

Default transfer shares from one a/c to another, lose history

Hi,

To transfer shares from one investment account to another, which is the
best option to use? I have been using the transfer out option, but by
doing that, all the transaction history is lost. Is there a way to
preserve it?

Thanks.
