| 2003/2004 were good products, but since them they have been a nightmare, starting with the fact that when first issued it needed an immediate patch and websites with around 40 defects were all over the internet. There was a major update just a couple of weeks after release. Lots of functionality gone. Overdue bills, no longer shows on most pages and must be found only on bills and deposits page, etc... | Count me in the group that are frustrated that Money Express is no longer part of the functionality of Money 2006. I never had a problem with it in the 2004 version, and loved how it popped up without having to launch the full program. I assumed that upgrading to '06 would give me MORE features, not less. Seems I was wrong. I waited on hold for about an hour tonite to talk to a second level support person, only to learn the feature was taken away. When I asked if there was a way to submit suggestions to the Money development team, the answer was pretty much no. Next up on my web surfing: finding a replacement for Money. It's not the price - it's the LACK of usefulness. I don't use any of their "online MSN features" so I don't care what they add there. I know they're trying to make money with ads, but I ALREADY BOUGHT their product - it wasn't a download like some free ISP service that you know will generate ads. I bought 2001, 2004, and 2006 and if this version is "their vision" : I'm done. |

| Glyn Thank you for the reminder about the systray. Also, Im still trying to get info on my 1st question... "1. is there not a 'money 2003' bill payer reminder function?" I see in Money2003 that under 'Options' there is an option for "You can use Money Express to notify you of payments due.", but I cant figure out how to make it work, ie how to set up Money Express to remind. When I click on the Money Express icon in the systray, it does offer a pick to 'Open Events List', but when I click on that nothing happens... maybe because there are no events (or reminders ?) set? Any ideas? -- akm Thanks again for your help. ---- ''''Ah, the miracle of computers!''''... someone also said "To error is human, but to really screw up it takes a computer!" | I was just telling you what your choices are, not defending the design or suggesting that it meets your requirements or challenging the requirement. Money is what it is and the developers have done what they've done. Money Express didn't work as documented for several versions. Rather than fix it, they took the feature out. They do things like that. I still use M04 as my primary version. But not because of MoneySide. I never liked that. | Dick it seems to be ok, but what do I need? To be adviced that a bill is under to its due even if I forget to open the Money? I want a mechanism that warns me that I am forgeting to pay something. If I could remeber to start up the Money and look inside it my calendar, than of course, I don´t need a software to remind me that. It was the play that Money Express was doing in my life and now I don´t have a mechanism to solve my problem. I think I´ll get back to 2004 version where Money Express was still alive. | In the past versions of Money it was possible to set an alert that ran next to the window clock (tray) that shown to me that a bill was a couple of days under to its due date, so every day I had the information when I should pay a bill. In money 2006 I am not finding this feature. I saw the Alters in 2006 show me about the balance in my account, or investments or columnists content from the newsletter, but I would just to aware of the due date of bills It seems not to be working in this version of money, even in 2004 and 2005, I think that I don´t know where it is now or it was cutt off from the product now. I also went in the Tools menu, Settings, Bill Settings, and I saw a "Remind me XX days in advance in a due bill", where I set 10 days, but it´s not showing anything to me, even, I am using the advanced bills too. I don´t know what to do, what I know is that yesterday I havent paid a bill because money havent told me to do that, I don´t want it to happen again... Can you help me with it? Thanks a lot Henrique Berenguel. |
