Default Re: How to account for payroll deposits into 401k?

When you say "this amount is added as cash each pay" I'm assuming you mean
that there is a transfer from your paycheck entries to the investment cash
account associated with your 401k investment account.

When you download transactions from online, you have to get it to match the
transactions you are entering. I'm not an expert in doing that as I don't
download transaction data. I save lots of hassles like this that way. I'm
sure others here can provide more detail, but Match You Must!

Default How to account for payroll deposits into 401k?

I am trying to bring my 401k accounting skills into the 21st century. I am
using Money 2006. I have my money that is removed from my paycheck from two
seperate accounts that goes to the same 401k. This amount is added as cash
each pay. When I go to update the accounts online, it adds what it sees as
the new total to the amount already in the account, generally doubling the
account. Any suggestions?
