I would from the installation of Money 2006
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2006\MNYCoreFiles" directory run
salv.exe on the Money 2002 file. It will probably fail, but it
should be worth a try.

Default Something Else to Try to Uncorrupt a Money File?

Eh you all,

I have a corrupt MS Money File. I have the password. It's a Money
2002 file.

I was wondering if anybody has suggestions. I've tried:

1. Downloading Money 2006 trial
(http://www.microsoft.com/money/freet....mspx#download) and
trying to open the file: it asks me for the password then the software
crashes.

2. Opening a test new file and choosing Standard repair from the File
menu: it asks me for the password then it errors out.

3. Opening the test file choosing standard repair, then changing the
setting to Express repair: same error as above.

4. Downloaded Super Salvage
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...splaylang=en):
received error that file may be too deeply damaged to open etc. Also
changed the setting to Express repair and received the same error.

5. Downloaded recovery for Money Demo
(http://www.officerecovery.com/money/): received Microsoft Money
template error.

6. Downloaded Ultrasoft's Money Link Express for Excel
(http://www.ultrasoft.com/MoneyLink/download.shtml): received error
that Money 2006 did not appear to exist on the machine.

7. Extracted text using the "extract any text" feature of Word: there
were a lot of recognizable English but nothing to indicate accounts and
info.

8. I can't open the file so I can't export it. Quicken requires the
QIF format first for import. I don't see any QIF conversion utilities
other than the one in Money that requires you to open the file.

Any suggestion would be much appreciated. I will include a section for
Money and Quicken repair in my site www.s2services.com.
