| Forgive my outburst... the comment was written out of frustration. As a general computers user, I find some steps at the Microsoft troubleshooting & repair page to be unclear & frustrating including some of the fix steps & about using Passport. Maybe Passport is Microsoft's way of saying that you have an account with them - not sure. I'll work through this as best as possible, and as mentioned, there are CDs of the program available. | Forgive my outburst, but I believe that general computers users such as myself find some steps at the Microsoft troubleshooting & repair page to be unclear including some of the fix steps & about using Passport. Maybe Passport is Microsoft's way of saying that you have an account with them - not sure. I'll work through this as best as possible, and as you said, there are CDs of the program available. Thanks! You do have to register it, though, for it to know it's no longer a trial. Users who buy hard copy CDs generally have less problems. They're available for significant discounts at Sam's and the like, and for no or very low cost in association with tax software purchases. BTW, you can get a refund if you don't want to keep it. |

| Forgive me, but this made no sense. I don't know why Microsoft uses this Passport garbage - the program is for my private use on my computer. The instructions per your link do not provide understandable steps to correcting this problem. Instead of a rebate, perhaps Microsoft should offer a refund. In the resolution, create a NEW empty file (named perhaps Temp.mny) that you put the referenced Passport onto. Let updates happen Restart the computer. Confirm that Money shows the right version. Then click on your real Money file that is shown on the bottom of the File menu. |

| I recently purchased and downloaded MS Money 2006 Standard. Now, when I use it, it says I'm using a trial version. I tried to email MS thru technical support but the trial version does not have the appropriate product ID numbers to continue in the screens. Since I truly did purchase the download, what can I do to make it stop thinking this is a trial version? |
