| As further information. I did more testing and this happens even in Safe Mode. I also forgot to mention that the renaming only seems to occur if I actually work in a Money file. It doesn't seem to happen if I just open and then close it right away. "BBran" <bbran[at]notell.net> wrote in message news:OjDGuKq$FHA.3308[at]TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl... | Try this. Get out of Money. If you are running MoneySide or similar, pre-M05, stuff, kill it. Rename the file to ABCD. Double-click on it. Quite Money. Rename the file to BCDE. Double-click on it. Quite Money. Rename the file to CDEF. Double-click on it. Quite Money. Rename the file to DEFG. Double-click on it. Quite Money. Rename the file to whatever you want to call it in whatever case you want to call it. Get this right the first time. Many versions of Windows won't change a filename AbCd to aBcD. To Windows, these are THE SAME filename. Now double click on it. What happens? "BBran" <bbran[at]notell.net> wrote in message news:u%23hEXgZ$FHA.3568[at]TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... I have, it isn't. |

Let's try it like this. Close Money. Rename the file.Open the file by double-clicking in Windows Explorer, or by typing the name into a command window. Money should open to that file. Close Money. Confirm that your upper-case letter is intact. - quote - > "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message news tcjp1dgcrb1hkd4mq72r4v2rqk3qmftv1[at]4ax.com...> In microsoft.public.money, BBran wrote: > > > Here is a weird one. Close Money. In a command window, do something like ren bbran.mny Bbran.mny You could probably also rename it in Windows Explorer if you prefer. (<windowsKey+E> ) |

| Hello, Here is a weird one. For some reason, the first letter for any Money filename I open keeps getting changed to lower case every time I shut down Money, even if I change it back to upper case before I open Money. Can anyone tell me how to prevent this? Merry Christmas, Bob Brannon |
