| Thanks for all the great suggestions. I just wanted to at a glance review each transaction and its category to see if I needed to do some editing. The expansion to a three line presentation did that. For some reason, initially I was stuck on having a column termed category, and was unable to do that, but the three line presention accomplished what I needed. Thanks to all who replied. | The performance problem is not the way the UI presents the data--the Money grid vs. a one line display ala Excel--it's the underlying database. If you have lots of changes to do to Category, have you looked at Find and Replace? | Thanks Carl. I did not know the Ctl+T trick, but it still takes too long to make changes in the categories in a long list of transactions. Should be an easier way. It is the transition into edit mode that takes the time. My files are over 50 MB so it is understandable, but irritating nevertheless. | Is it possible to view the categories of the transactions in the account register in a separate colum in place of one of the other colums. I know you can double click on any specific transaction and bring up the details of one transaction at a time. And of course turn on the forms portion of the register. But I would like to view all of the category assignments at the same time that I am viewing all of the transactions at a glance. |
