| Start by describing "cant make my files work" in detail. What happens, what doesn't happen, what messages? You say you have trouble with the password. What trouble? Is the original file password protected? Passport or file password? Have you tried removing it from the file on the original machine before transferring the file? You say it tells you "incompatible". Are both Money installs reporting the exact same version number, not just the 1105 part? Were both installed from the same install CD? I don't know that it matters, but are both machines set to the same regional settings? Will the non-working Money machine work with the Sample file? Can the new machine create a new and operable Money file in the directory where you are trying to store the moved Money file copy? | I need to reformat my hard drive and am moving important files to another computer before I do. The problem is that I cant make my files work on the other computer. I have read all the previous posts regarding this problem and none of the solutions are working. I either have trouble with the password or it tells me the file is incompatible. They are both 1105 versions running on XP, I have tried through a network file transfer, through using the flash drive. I have tried transfering both the backup as well as the original files. I disabled the password on the original to make it easier but its not working. I have tried creating a new file and updating and all of the things suggested. What now? |
