Default Re: Microsoft Money and TD Canada Trust.

What version of Money?
I have to download statements from my bank in OFX format. These are
imported into Money, and Money auto-categorises them

However, its not fool proof. Sometimes Payees which are similar but not
identical, will require maunal categorising. But mostly it does a
pretty good job of it.
You need to categorise each payee yourself first time round in order
for MS to learn how to match them.

Also see the Accounts -> Categories and Payees, where you can create
rules which match payees to cats.

Im referring to MS Money small business 2006, but Ive used MS Money
Personal Edition 2002 and MS Money Deluxe 2005 and they both did this
also.

Default Microsoft Money and TD Canada Trust.

I want MS money to be able to auto-categorize the transactions it downloads
from my bank, but aparrently, to do this, it needs to be in "Essential
Mode", which requires that Money be able to connect directly to your bank.

For some reason, MS Money is only able to interface to my bank in "Advanced
register mode", which doesn't auto-categorize transactions.

Does anyone know why this is?

Does anyone know how to get it to auto-recognize and categorize my
transactions in Advanced mode?

(IE, if it sees a transaction from "ACME TAXI", I want it to automatically categorize
it as Transport-> Taxi.)
