Bottom line, as useful as Money is, and it is, I've learned to live with
some bugs. This is just one more. I'm more troubled by Money's inclusion
in PV as "gain" dividends as income that was earned by the same investment
in another
account, even if that investment has been sold and even when the display is
by Accounts! There doesn't seem to be any way around this "feature." When
it comes to measuring investment performance, Money comes up short.

the securities can't be really deleted, right? So the problem may come down
to your Reports -- could be that you have a "busted" view which needs to be
reset. I can't remember how to do that in M2004, but let's start with a file
repair. Have you done that?

The only setting I know of for closed positions just stops downloading
prices. It certainly doesn't delete anything.

What happens is baffling. If I set up a Tax Report for capital gains, all
gains and losses for all closed positions for the period display properly.
If I do the same thing with a performance Investment Report, positions
closed for more than about 3 months will not display. This is also true in
PV, even though I set PM to display closed accounts.

What's more, under Working With Investments, those closed investments are
gone from the list. Believe me, I did not delete them. Is there a setting
somewhere that automatically deletes closed positions after a time period?
Is this a bug? Am I hallucinating?! <g

Yes, PM will allow me to see closed positions in PV--but only those within
the last 3 months. And in any of the Investment Performance Reports, any
closed position more than 3 months closed is gone.

I'm baffled. At first I thought I must have accidentally deleted the closed
investment, but no, it's happening consistently. Needless to say, it's
made the investment performance report useless.

Just to clarify: you're really not seeing investments being deleted, right?
You can modify portfolio manager to display sold securities and should also
be able to customize your reports.

reports, for example, but not performance reports. They are also gone from
