Try doing them in batches and closing money between them. Maybe a repair
half way through. Not seen this particular mechanism of manifesting the
problem before, but I could well believe it

Dave, could you tell us WHY in the world you would have 25 sell
transactions happening at the same time? Seems kinda much to expect a
$25 personal finance program like MONEY to handle that on a regular
basis. JMHO. Steve

I have found M06 to be very unstable with my data file. I cannot point to
any point source of problems. You might consider trying the File|Repair
options. This factor is one of the prime reasons I will likely continue
waiting for M07 or TBD.

Of course, all of the talk about converting Money to an ad-supported (like
it wasn't already?) AJAX web app doesn't give me warm feelings that M07+
will ever be a suitable replacement for M04.

Glyn,

Thanks. I just restored - again - a back-up and the program is opening and
working fine. BUT, as I've found out twice already today,if I enter about 25
sell transactions in an investment account - and do nothing else...make no
other changes -- the program will revert to the shutdown routine I described
in my earlier post. I'm not changing anything in the portfolio view. There
has to be some explanation of and fix for this, no?

Thanks.

Dave

Possibly something broken on the portfolio view on the home page. See
http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/168.aspx for some information which might
help you.

Make sure you take a safe copy of your backups.

I am in the same boat as you, I have had money premium 2006 for several
months and just recently had problem of opening and immediately shutting
down. It will occassionally let me continue. I have enquired about causes
and fixes but have not gotten any response. Let me know if you find out
something

Default Money 2006 shutting down!

Using Money Standard 2006, downloaded about three weeks ago (registered, not
trial version).

Everything was fine until today, when I entered about 25 sells in an
investment account. When I went back to Money homepage, the program shut down
on me. Now the program always shuts down as soon as I enter my password and
see the home page; it's up for less than a second and the program shuts down.

I rebooted and restored a back-up .mny file, reentered the info and the same
thing is happening again.

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks.
