| Thanks but I already tried that with no change. Note that before I un-installed/re-installed Money 2006 Standard that I had it working without the "Trial" status (the re-install was an attempt to solve a different problem). Both the first time and this time when installing Money 2006 I had to disable McAfee Virus protection in order for the post install updates to download successfully -- it's after these updates completed and prompted to re-start the computer that the "Trial" status kicks in (even when on-line, using associated Passport account, with Virus scan and fire wall disabled). I've gone through this un-install/re-install/download updates process twice now and still end up with the Trial version status. I was going to email Money support desk for help but the dialogs ask for a valid product id ... but you don't get a "valid" id in the help/about screen when the software is in "Trial" mode (the trial id doesn't work). After reading through this news group and numerous KB articles, I have come to the conclusion that the problem has to do with the fact that the billing site has my status as "Canceled" for my Money 2006 purchase and that the "Canceled" status has to do with the fact that the Billing entry has an end date, one month from the purchase date, specified ... I don't know how to get a hold of MS to fix it without spending additional money for the support contact. -Ron "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message news:h2eso19369vfd2olnh8o7j0q997tdvmvg3[at]4ax.com... - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Ron Mann wrote: > > I'm having this problem as well. | Why there is an "End date:" I don't know but suspect it may have something to do with the "Cancled" status and "Trial version" status in the software after un-install and re-install. Couldn't find a support link to send an email (all the support links took me in circles from one FAQ page to another). Suggestions? From the billing page: *************************************** Microsoft Money 2006 Standard (one-time charge of $29.95 plus tax) Status: Canceled Purchased: 7/22/2005 End date: 8/22/2005 ******************** "Ron Mann" <rmann7[at]msn.com> wrote in message news:%23WcUA0f9FHA.2676[at]TK2MSFTNGP15.phx.gbl... - quote - > I'm having this problem as well. | I'm having this problem as well. I actually had 2006 installed and running but was having trouble with GP faults when exiting my money file. Tried repairing the file but still error on exit so tried un-install and re-install, got it to re-download components (reports etc) but when it finished it went back to saying trial version. Checked the billing site per the KB and it has "Cancled" as the status next to my Money 2006 purchase! -Ron "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message news:98sno1lmlko0ipgcghivkk2oe900g24tp3[at]4ax.com... - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Sam K wrote: > > > I downloaded Money 2006 and I paid for it. Start with the trial, as you have done. When> running a trial version. > What happened? > Can I re-download the real thing. > This is Money 2006 Standard. Money uses a file with the same Passport that you used when you bought Money, it should download the appropriate things and adjust the version that you see in Help-> About.... See http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;889930 and follow it if you want your Money file to use the same Passport on your Money file that you used when you bought Money. If you want something other than to do that, do something slightly different. Create a NEW empty file (named perhaps Temp.mny) that you put the referenced Passport onto. Let Money download data that it needs. Close Money. Restart Money. Confirm that Money shows the right version. Then click on your real Money file that is shown on the bottom of the File menu. |

| Hello, I downloaded Money 2006 and I paid for it. When I run it, it says I am running a trial version. What happened? Can I re-download the real thing. This is Money 2006 Standard. Thank you. |
