| To finally fix the problem, I deleted all references to Bofa Accounts in my money file, reset the automatic update, and re-imported the historic data. It broke a couple of other automatic updates along the way and I had to repeat the same operations executed on the Bofa account for these other two accounts. Of course, it also broke all the transactions that were setup as transfers between those accounts but automatic updates at least work. Chapter closed for me on this subject (and thanks for the suggestion to try it in another money file: it convinced me that the pb was with some settings in the money file I was using). Finally, I searched in the knowledge base and the support forum regarding a possible defect in MS Money when: 1. Importing a QIF file 2. Setting online automatic update a posteriori. But did not find anything. Is anybody aware of such issue? Thanks. | Interesting, it does work when I use a new money file. I guess my money file must be corrupted or something... Thanks for the suggestion. | Thanks for the suggestion about Yodlee. I setup an account there and my bofa ca checking account information is pulled up correctly. In fact, I realized it looked awfully similar to MyPortfolio tool on Bofa website (and Bofa updates always worked fine there). So, it seems that it really is a problem with MS Money... I tried again this morning and it still does not work properly... I am running a trial version and trying to make some decisions about buying it or not and I'm wondering if Quicken works better with respect to automatic updates... Any recommendation, anyone? It is still disconcerting to see that some accounts can be updated automatically in MS Money (but not in Yodlee) and the other way round (Advancial FCU, JP Morgan 401k...). Any further insight on those differences? Thanks. | I agree that Bank of America CA does not control how Yodlee tries to scrape the information using virtually this same approach. I do not know if Yodlee can get around sitekey as it is designed to protect against this type of activity BUT I WOULD approach either Yodlee or their partner Microsoft whom you paid money to to find the solution. If you want to approach yodlee go to their web site https://www.yodlee.com/newarch/index.do and create an yodlee on-center account. From this account you can perform much of the same items you can do with in Money 2006. Thus you can verify that Yodlee can access your account. If they can not you will get a method of issuing a bug report directly to yodlee. I had a similar problem with one of my accounts where the website was changed and it stopped working in Money. When I notified Money they did nothing. When I set up an on-center account and reported it to them, they fixed it in 48 hours. They also thanked me for reporting it. | I don't call this a "fix" but a "workaround" (they just copy and paste their FAQ section): active statement is certainly a method to get your data in MS Money but that's where the similarity stops. I see some activity on the MS Money/Yodlee side though. The setup was disabled for the past two days: I am able this morning to enter my online ID and passcode but the automatic update remains unsuccessful... | Yes. you have summarized it well. The effect is that automatic updates are not. At least in California. You can still go to the BOA website, look at your account info, and then download it from there via a QIF file. Ths QIF file can then be imported into your software. Just doesn't happen automatically. You must physically go to the GOA site and choose the iformation you want to import. | If you read the previous threads, you'll realize pretty quickly that talking to the bank won't get you anywhere. To summarize my understanding of the issue, MS Money seems to pull your bank data from a third party (yodlee?) but because Bofa CA changed the interface to signon to their website and yodlee did not, the automatic update is broken . For a while, a message within MS Money would say that "account setup was disabled" but it's been re-enabled (I can now enter my online ID and my password) but, utimately, it still fails (and I must have tried a dozen times over the past three days). | It looks like the problem is still not fixed. I now get the following error message within MS Money when I try to setup a BofA CA checking account (Money 2006 trial version): "Account setup is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. " Is there an estimate for resolution? I'm a new user of MS Money and so far I quite like it but if I can't get these BofA account updates working by 02/20/2006 when my trial period ends, I'm seriously thinking of giving it a shot with Quicken. Thanks, L'ours grognon dans sa caverne. "Russ Paul-Jones" wrote: - quote - > Yes. | According to Russ they are switching to Yodlee for downloading BoA statements from within MSMoney. The Yodlee site is now sucessful in downloading from BoA for Ca, but I am still not able to do that within MS Money. There is some disconnect somewhere between Yodlee and MS, from my standpoint.
