Theoretically, yes, but leave a little overlap. If you import it as a bank> in > the MM04 file? statement it will simply match to existing transactions. Review the ones that match and change them if they don't. Make sure you leave the top line of the QIF that starts with "!Type:". The last line must end with ^. You may need a trailing carriage return (blank line) after that. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| That would be the theory. You have to be aware of things like balanced accounts after the 10/26 date. If you did that for any accounts, it would change transactions prior to 10/26 to reconciled. Also, keep a copy of the M04 file from before you do the imports. That way you can keep trying all of this till you are happy with the results. I'm not sure I'd do the import as statements as Chris suggests as this hardwires Money to think that forever more you will be downloading transaction data into that account. This may or may not be appropriate. | When editing the QIF file in notepad, do I delete all information already in the MM04 file? I started using MM06 on 10/27/2005. The latest entries in the file saved when "upgrading" to MM06 are dated 10/26/2005. When I am editing the QIF file, do I delete all information (including starting balance) prior to 10/26/2005? Thank you, Dick and Chris, for you input! "GreggC" wrote: - quote - > I am as disappointed with MM2006 as I was with MM2005. I'd like to revert > back to MM2004. Is this unwise? If reverting to an earlier version, an alternative to hand entry of all> current data file but not into your MM2004 data file. those transactions is to export the file to QIF. Edit the file with Notepad to delete all of the earlier transactions (pick an arbitrary date on which you were still using 04), then import that into 04 as a bank statement. Money will match existing transactions, and add those that don't exist. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL |

| Did you save a copy of your MM2004 data file? MM2004 will not open any file that has been written to by MM2005 or MM2006. You will have to reenter all the data that you entered into your current data file but not into your MM2004 data file. | Thanks Dick. I wish I had paid a little closer attention to your editorials in umpmfaq concerning MM2005. | It depends on how much data you've entered in M06. See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=17.
