We'll see what happens in the future, but the direction seems clear.

Even without passport, if your bank supports it, you can still download
transactions into Money, do online bill pay, etc.

Well, then, there is really no need for a Passport in M06 or previous.
Sooner or later there probably will be. Despite the high negatives from many
users, Microsoft seems intent on forcing this on us.

Sorry if not following protocol. This morning my Money went into a loop
entering all scheduled bills and payments through the beginning of Jan 2006
before I could stop it. Happened twice. Any ideas?????

Passport is NOT a requirement. Click Decline on the Passport signup screen.
Tell it about three or four times you really don't want to use a Passport.

I think they intentionally make people think this is like an EULA
acknowledgement to get you to click Accept as though it's the only way to
get it installed/operational. They REALLY want us to use Passport and Yodlee
and store the data on their servers, et al. But it is NOT a requirement.

Does your brother intend to use Money "the effortless way" with "less
typing" and connect electronically to his banks or some facsimile thereof to
get transaction data?

There is no need to create a passport account to use Money 2006. I have
never associated any passport account with any version of Money (started
using Money with 2001 and am now using 2006).

Default Money 2006 Question

Hi all,

My brother wants to use Money 2006 that came with his new pc, but he says
that it's necessary to open a MS Passport account just in order to use Mny
2006!

He is one that likes to use fake bank names & such in order to protect his
files, and he says that looks to be impossibe in Mny 2006.

Any thoughts about this?

Regards
