| I'm not sure I'm understanding you correctly. The original Buy transactions for those mutual funds were not in the transactions downloaded. So perhaps you are suggesting that Money is creating transactions so that there will be enough transactions to account for the current balance? I looked at more transactions, and it does seem that an "Add shares" is always associated with a "sell", the day prior to the Sell transaction (my original example probably spanned a weekend), and for the most part these transactions match the Sell in quantity and have a 0 value. So if I understand your theory, Money is making adjustments in quantity of Add Shares the first time it sees a Sell, and there after the quantity matches exactly? This could have been Money seeing that Schwab said you had the investments, but Money did not know that already. Money would have offered to update your account. Does that match? Did you not already have Buy transactions in place that fully accounted for your holdings? |

| I recently installed a trial version of Money 2006. When I look at the transactions for one of my investment accounts, I can't figure out what some of them mean. On March 28 I sold shares in three mutual funds. The quantities were 54, 5.24, and 25. Those transactions show up in Money as Sell transactions - no problem. On March 25 Money shows three "Add Shares" transactions for those same mutual funds. (I have several other fund positions in the account). The quantities were 54, 2.801 and 22.877. The price and total were 0.00. My Schwab account history shows no activity at all on March 25. Any idea what's going on??? |
