I don't believe so unless you have the specific newsgroup Synchronization
settings set to All messages. I believe you have to explicitly set this or
mark all messages for later download before synchronizing.

Doesn't "synchronize newsgroup" download the messages for the headers you've
got on your system?

Yes, indeed, that's it. It's in the "Advanced" reports section. I think
the last time I tried "Advanced" I must not really have gotten it. Because
this looked new. I do see now that just choosing "switch from Essential
to Advanced" doesn't do it. And then when you get there, choosing the
"Advanced tab" and closing the window doesn't do it. You must actually
choose the Advanced button on the window you got when you clicked "switch
from Essential to Advanced."

Thanks very much.

Yes, I did that, but still didn't see a place where you could get a report
on all your transactions. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Glad MoneyLink helps you get there. Also, be sure and read other postings
about turning to Advanced Reports and then go look at the Account
transactions report including its Customize options.

One other OE thought re. your question--I read your comment wrong the first
time--"P.S. - I've used MS newsgroups for years. I just subscribed to this
one. Outlook Express searches only seem to look at postings that I have
already looked at. I have downloaded headers for several hundred messages,
and have synchronized the newsgroup several times. Any ideas about this?"
If you search downloaded headers only by subject you may get there. If all
you have downloaded is the headers--not the actual messages--and you ask OE
to search contents, all it can do is look at the messages you've downloaded,
i.e., read. The headers are just that, no more. OE can't search what it
can't see. You can mark all messages for download and then download them.
Then OE can search the contents. But its not very flexible and downloading
all of this takes space and time. For this reason, Cal's suggestion about
http://groups.google.com may work better for you.

If she were set to Essential Reports, she would not see that one.
Switching to "Advanced" will open more possibilities.

Check the Investment Transactions report, and Customize to include
the Account and time that you want.

Go to 'Reports' tab; In the 'Investment' section, see the 6th
selction? is this the transaction report you are looking for?

If you are using Essential reports, you can get a bigger selection
by switching to Advanced. Click ChangeReportSettings in the left
column of the Reports list.

Thank you!
The addin does exactly what I want.
It does seem very very strange that I should go through all this
investigation and all these steps just to be able to sort my Schwab accounts
and/or print all of them out on paper.

Also - if anyone knows how to get a Money "Report" of all my transactions
for an account, I'd still be interested in exploring that right-mouse
suggestion made elsewhere in this thread.

Well, I think I got a little further on my own. I'm guessing now you meant
to go to "reports." But it seems like I only have access to pre-formatted
reports, and none of them are for the history. I do see, though, that if I
am looking at a report, right mouse gives me an "Export to Excel" option.

Are you sure there's a "history" or "all transactions" report available
somewhere?

Can you give me a step by step way to get to "a report of the account
history?" The only place where I can find a right-mouse menu available for
an account is if I go to Home\Account List\<right mouse on an account> . The
right-mouse menu options are:
See Investment Transactions
See Account History
See Account Settings
-----
Favorite
Account is Open
Account is Closed
------
Read Statement
Delete Statement

A really neat way to find prior postings in this group is to use the
Google Usenet Groups archive.

http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search enter words that you
think would be in relevant posts into the "all of the words" box.
Enter microsoft.public.money into the newsgroup box. Consider
selecting Sort By Date.

Default Re: How to sort and select?

There is also the MoneyLink Excel Add-in which can come get some information
from Money directly. See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=9.

For exporting to Excel, try right clicking on a report of the account
history and choosing the "Export to Excel" or a CSV option

Default How to sort and select?

I got the Trial copy of Money 2006 just so I could sort and select my Schwab
transactions any way I wanted to (BTW - It is unbelievable to me that Schwab
provides no reasonable ability to print out the contents of an account's
history. The right hand side (the amounts(!) ) are cut off, and you can
only print the first page.)

Anyway, now that I'm trying Money (recommended by Schwab) I still can't find
a way to do this. I seem to only be able to sort by a limited number of
fields, and only to select by time period.

I'd like to be able to export to Excel. The only export feature I can find
creates a qif file. I don't know what a QIF is. Excel doesn't seem to be
able to read one.

Any advice?

P.S. - I've used MS newsgroups for years. I just subscribed to this one.
Outlook Express searches only seem to look at postings that I have already
looked at. I have downloaded headers for several hundred messages, and have
synchronized the newsgroup several times. Any ideas about this?
