Default Re: How do I properly record a trnasfer?

Microsoft Money uses double entry accounting principals for its foundation.
I would suggest getting a book designed for a basic accounting class to
learn why Money handles transactions the way it does.

Money does simplify some of the descriptions; instead of calling all entries
debits or credits it will call them deposits, payments, charges, etc. But
once you have a basic understanding of accounting it will be easy to follow
the flow of transactions.

The basics like loan amortization or internal rate of return will give you a
good understanding of how Money handles the debt payments and the portfolio.

For what it's worth, I've never seen a book on Money that gave details on
the behind-the-scenes processing. The advanced guides just cover more
features, but don't tell you why it is handled that way.

I haven't seen one in print in years. There are several unofficial FAQs and
web sites mentioned here fairly often that may provide some of the insight
you're looking for.

Do you know a more advaced user guide to help me understand the actual
accounting of the software. I know that choosing special transfer does it
but I would like to understand the how it works and why it should be done
that way.

"Credit Car Payment: Credit Card B". That's equivalent to "Transfer: Credit
Card B". The difference is cosmetic.

Use the SPECIAL Transfer category at the bottom of the list.

Default How do I properly record a trnasfer?

I am balancing accounts and am having trouble keeping them balanced. Lets say
I have Account A and Credit Card B. How should the Transfer be recorded to
pay from Accaount A to Credit Card B? Is there a decent user guide to use
besides the one online in the help menu.
