Just a follow up that Checkfree told me the MS Money ASAP payment date
will be a minimum of 4 business days. Payments can be made with an
earlier date by logging into the MSN Bill Pay/Checkfree website.

After the website password change and update sync within Money 2006 D,
the only qlitch so far is that I can make payments at the Checkfree
website from today, 11/19, with a scheduled payment date of 11/22 and
MS Money restricts the ASAP pay date to 11/28; a 6 calendar day
difference.

I called Checkfree and was told to cancel the 11/28 payments at their
website and re-pay them at their website with the available date of
11/22; then go into MS Money and do another update to sync the
payments and the ASAP date. The sync correctly voided the 11/28
payments and added the 11/22 payments in the Money register; however
the bill pay ASAP date for other bills in the bill pay area still
shows 11/28. That's 9 calendar days from today, 11/19.

I called MS and was told the status change logs look okay and to give
it 24 hours. Then I was told, if it doesn't sync the Money bill pay
ASAP date automatically, then I will need to disable Bill Pay and
re-enable Bill Pay. Sigh... been there done that in the past and
really DIDN'T want to do it again.

Hopefully this is a back end glitch and will be fixed with an update.

Yes, the Money client side doesn't change.

The changes strictly impact the billpay website and user registrations.
These should not impact any of Money's current "features" including
those you describe for versions 14 and 15.

Thanks for the reply. Does it still function the same within Money?
Specifically, does it still create a separate 'MSN Billpay' account that you
can't merge to another, if the other is already enabled for online banking
through the other bank?

Chris,

The "thumbnail" is that previously CheckFree did the bill pay and MS
did the website. Under the new setup, CheckFree does it all thus
requiring re-registration.

The URL stays the same (for now?) so the links in current versions of
Money still work (I suppose!).

JB

Other than the need for new passwords, what's changing on the service that
affects users? Or are all the changes on the back end?

Default MSN Bill Pay Changes

I don't know if everybody that subscribes to MSN Bill Pay has noticed the
email notifications that have gone out in the past couple of weeks, but we
are making some changes to the implementation of the service. Unfortunately,
this will require a little work on the part of our subscribers. The
important news for MS Money users follows.

MS Money

Note for Microsoft Money Users: If you use the MSN Bill Pay service in
conjunction with Microsoft Money 2004, 2005 or 2006 to pay your bills, you
will need to visit the new MSN Bill Pay website (https://billpay.msn.com)
after November 18, at least once to setup your new password. You will then
need to change your user password stored in your Microsoft Money file to
match your new website password. Do not change your user ID stored in your
Money file - you only need to update your password. You can do this as
follows:

a.. On the top menu bar, select "Tools". Then select "Internet Updates".
Then select "Update Now". Find the MSN Bill Pay service on the list and
select the checkbox. Enter your new password in the "Password" field that
appears. Then click the "Update" button.
If you have any problems or questions please, contact MSN Bill Pay customer
support at 877-800-4873.

Sincerely,

The MSN Bill Pay team
