| As I stated, I have no online options checked, including MSN Money. Just what "online operations" are occurring when I open Money? | It's nothing really "mysterious". This is related to "synching with MSN Money". If you have this turned on (Tools - Settings - Access Money on the Web), which may be due to having Financial Institutions that update via Yodlee or CashEdge, then Money is doing it's initial sync to get any updated transactions from these financial institutions, as well as checking for any updates for the Money program itself. -Mark <johnbusc[at]hotmail.com> wrote in message news:1132247589.483050.196450[at]g47g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > Taylor, > The issue you are experiencing has been around since Money 2005, > although, in my experience, it has worsened in 2006. > Regardless of your settings, Money will perform online operations when > you first open it. | Taylor, The issue you are experiencing has been around since Money 2005, although, in my experience, it has worsened in 2006. Regardless of your settings, Money will perform online operations when you first open it. It appears that the larger the data file, the longer it takes to perform these online operations. What size is your data file? One way to determine when it is OK to do your own Update, is to open Windows Task Manager and wait for process msmoney.exe to drop to near-zero CPU usage. Once this occurs, you can do your update. On my system, it takes 6-8 minutes to complete with my 30Mb file, 2-3 minutes with another 15Mb file, and just a few seconds with a 7Mb file. Try again later" What "online operation" is occurring when I open Money??? I do not have any online options checked. This is creepy. |
