| Thanks, JB. It wasn't obvious how to do this. The help file points to items that don't exist. The file type for each of the accounts was "bank". <g> It took quite a bit of sleuthing to even determine which were marked as business accounts and which were personal. I finally found out how to make the change and was able to straighten the mess out. Now I just have to straighten out the downloaded transactions that had already cleared in the old program. It's messed up quite a few, including my balances. Sigh. Fortunately I still have the old version with the old file on my Tablet PC, so I can compare things. Thanks again for your help. ![]() -- Patty MacDuffie www.computerhaven.info <johnbusc[at]hotmail.com> wrote in message news:1131012911.552076.34100[at]o13g2000cwo.googlegroups.com... - quote - > Patty, > You may have to go to Manage Online Services and perform the steps to > turn off or stop using online services for your bank. | Patty, You may have to go to Manage Online Services and perform the steps to turn off or stop using online services for your bank. Once this is done, you may be able to change account types. Change the existing account types to match the account types the duplicate ones are. Before re-enabling online services for your bank, you may need to delete the duplicated accounts since I would assume there will be new duplicates created. Once you re-enable online services try the merge again. Hope this works - best of luck! Regards, JB Patty MacDuffie wrote: - quote - > I just upgraded from Money Small Business 2004 to 2006. | I just upgraded from Money Small Business 2004 to 2006. I've never used passport with Money before. I do direct banking with my bank, not via their website. I'm having trouble now when I try to download a statement, Money says the bank doesn't recognize my accounts. It says this could be because of duplicate accounts. Yes, it has duplicated my two checking accounts. My old accounts (1 and 2) are all there, have all their transactions. Then there are duplicates of those accounts, 3 and 4 respectively. So I go to merge accounts, and it says I can't merge a personal account with a business account and to chose a different account! Well I can't just merge any old accounts! #3 duplicates #1, and #4 duplicates #2. These are the accounts that need to be merged. It also won't let me change the account type for any of these 4 accounts. So now I have upgraded to Money 2006 and my online banking is worthless and my accounts are all screwed up. What do I do now? Get a refund? Or is there a solution to all of this? Appreciate any help, thanks. -- Patty MacDuffie www.computerhaven.info |
