| Switching between Quicken and MS is often a difficult process despite the advertising hype. Threatening to do so in hope that MS will hear yo9u and respond just before you do switch is magical thinking. Best to check again in a week and see if it is fixed. | I am also having a problem with my mutual fund quotes not downloading properly, but I'm not going to pay $35 to tell MS about it. It is interesting that some mutual funds download properly, while others do not. I think this just started happening around the 21st of October. When I checked my portfolio on Saturday October 29th, many mutual funds had not updated since the 26th of October, while a few were up to date with quotes from the 28th. Will someone keep this board up to date on the latest from MS? It may be time to switch to Quicken. | I went to the Microsoft Help and Support site, found the section for Microsoft Money Deluxe 2004, and sent my e-mail from there. Hope that helps. | I agree Chuck, do you have the contact info you used for everyone? After reading all the other posts on this problem, it seems like there are several variations on this problem. I am receiving my quotes for both stocks and funds, however, there is no calculation being made for "Today's Total Change" (funds only). This behavior is similar to what has always happened if I waited until after midnight to download quotes.... all quotes would download but there would be no Total Change info for funds. This calculation only takes two values into account - the number of shares I own and the change in value (per share) for the day. Seems like (in my case only) the problem is internal to the program and not related to the download service. I am running Money Deluxe 2005. | The quote as of COB Friday (10/28) for Fidelity Balanced Fund is 17.80, but MSN Money shows it to be 17.79, which is the quote from 10/26. Thanks. | Bob, At least in my case the data AND price are not being updated. If I go to a Mutual Fund and select "Update Prices Manually" to review the price, I do not have the 10/28 price. However the NAV change on "My Money Home Page", "Best and Worst Performers" appears to be correct. I assumed that the NAV change and the prices come from the same source, but I guess that is not correct. | That's not true. For example, I have many Fidelity funds. The prices for those funds both on the Fidelity web site and my MSN home page (I use MSN as my ISP) say one thing and MSN Money says another. The price quotes on MSN Money are from 10/26. They will not update from those prices. Please tell that to MSN Support so they can fix the problem. Thanks! | Everyone needs to contact MS Money Support. Here is a copy of a post from below, a response to someone else, but I wanted to get this up front to be sure everyone sees it: I just sent an e-mail to MS Money Support to make sure they are aware of the problem, but I think that as many others as possible should do the same. Otherwise, they are likely to respond to me that the problem is on my end, not on their end. So, please, everyone who is having problems downloading mutual fund quotes, please contact MS Money Support and let them know there is some kind of server problem. Thanks! |
