| I am using XP and created a new user with administrator privilege. I logged on with the new user and created a brand new MSMoney file. Created an account and added an investment. When I updated it gave quotes for ... 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/21 and 10/26. No quotes for 10/27 or 10/28. | Cal, I do have a firewall but also had the same firewall before the problems starting occuring. I disabled the firewall, but was still unable to get any of the quotes. At least since you can update quotes in Money 2004, I know it is possible. I will try your suggestion about creating a new user. I noticed there is another post ( two down from mine) that two other users are having the same problem. Do you have a software firewall that might be blocking the quote fetches? Or Norton? If you are using XP, I would try creating a new user with Administrator privilege. Switch to that user and start Money with a new blank file. Set up a new Money file and see if that gets quotes updated. The theory is that if the problem is an IE6 setting, you will get default settings for the new user. If you succeed this way, it would accomplish the download, and it would point toward the reason the other did not work. You can delete the new user later, and your regular IE6 settings will not have been changed. |

| I've been running 2006 for a few months and the quotes have downloaded ok. Today, my stock quotes download ok and all my mutual funds from a number of companies do not download. My guess is that MS has a problem. I'll try again in a few hours or tomorrow. Al. "ga" wrote: - quote - > Cal, > Thanks for the suggestion. | Cal, Thanks for the suggestion. I have three different ".mny" files and am having the same problem with all three. I took one of the smaller ones which had 8 quotes to update, i.e. DJI, NASDAQ, S&P 500, and 5 mutual funds. I deslected all eight in the "Quotes to Download" and then would select only 1 mutal fund and run "Update Prices Online". Aftter the five runs, none of the mutual funds were updated. The 5 mutual funds were from 5 different families, so it highly unlikely that all 5 mutual fund families would be having problems with their quotes. Is anyone out there using MSMoney 2004 and having success updating quotes. Configure in the Last Updated column on the Custom portfolio. Sort by the Last Updated column. Note which ones with symbols have not been updated recently. Make sure each of those is unchecked in UpdatePrices-> PickQuotesToDownload. You can try increasing the number of quotes that you fetch after you are successful at getting your most important ones. But try not to ask for those that there is no data on. |

| I have Microsoft Money 2004 standared and recently have been having problems downloading quotes. The DJI, NASDAQ, and S&P 500 quotes download fine. Starting last week, I had problems downloading Mutual Fund quotes. Then they loaded all right. Then yesterday I experienced the same problem and still have it. I have reinstalled the software and installed the Microsoft Activex version of MSN Money Investing, but I am still not having any luck. The downloads are supposed to be good for 2 years and I installed the software about 15 months ago and I have received no notices that the download quotes has expired. I receive no errors when I download the quotes, it just does not download them. Does anyone have ideas? I noticed several other posts about this same problem and wonder if anyone else is still having the problem. |
