| That's what my other option was considering the money files I backup tend to be on the small side. Hate to have to back up to CD's since from prior experience it seems to take forever compared to the speed of the floppy disk. Other option is to remove old floppy from old box and try to install it into the new box. I've looked inside to see if the mobo had an IDE connector and extra power supply. As far as I can tell it looks like I should be able to slide it right in. In poking around on the new box though, I noticed in the Users Guides it made note this system will not support an Internal floppy so I may have to look at USB externals as mentioned. Thanks for the suggestions. |

| For old times sake you might want to explore a USB floppy drive. Many Notebooks these days come without a floppy and it can be useful for transferring small files. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | That's how it should work and what it's supposed to do. | Had to get a new box last week since old one got toasted in local power surge. Oh well. I used to back up my Money 2002 info to a floppy. Lo and behold, didn't notice that new box didn't have floppy drive. I assume if I transfer that old info from floppy onto a CD I'll be able to update the newest version of Money on the new box? It is Money 2005. From the help file in Money 2005 it sounds like I have to insert the CD and go to File, Restore backup then browse for location? Again I assume it will transfer all the old accounts and relevant info to those accounts into the new version? |
