Thanks again for the help! I am 99% sure I did that on the latest Win2K
attempts. Again, the install seems to go OK, however, I did notice on the
Win98 install ... the loading of the components (DLLs, OCXs, etc) took a
little while longer and the progress bar went all the way across. On the
Win2K machine, it went about 1/4 the way across and then went straight to
FINISH dialog so that is the only "fishy" thing I can see different. The
machine is the same ... just using removable HDDs ... so no real performance
differences between loads. I will keep plugging away ... just getting tired
of wasting time!

The registry keys are in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Money and
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Money

machine, I get a message stating I should use the original downloaded install
and it says if it does not work, I can re-download but try to find it on the
MS website ... yah right!

Went back to my old Win98 HDD, uninstalled Money, cleaned the files, folders
and registry out, rebooted and reinstalled. My goal was to create a
"pre-1105" MNY file to try on the Win2K load. The install worked fine and I
said NO to any update dialogs but when I checked the ABOUT it was already
1105. Go figure. Also noticed, some of the info on the subject says to
locate the SAMPLE.MNY file ... I have found no such animal anywhere. One
would assume it would come with the download but it did not.

Bottom line, kind of frustrated with this so if anyone has any other ideas,
please let me know. I have been thru the http://money.mvps.org website and
it has not provided the solution either. OR I am just not applying that
solution correctly.
