Default Re: "Spending average" on budget

I really have NEVER used the essential system because I have found over
10 years of using Money that the advanced system is the only one that
works for me. That being said, I think you can easily see that it is
IMPOSSIBLE to come up with an "average" of 10 when you use a 3 and a 6
and a 9 in your calculation. Good luck to you. Steve

Default "Spending average" on budget

Hi all!!

I would like to know how money calculates the "spending average" on the
Essential budget.

I have done some tests and I couldn't find the way... this average is not
the sum of values of a set of transactions divided by the numbers of
transactions.

I think the average is the sum of values of a set of transactions divided by
numbers of months. But I did this test : 3 transactions (august/05 $6)
(september/05 $9) and (october/05 $3), their category is clothing.
3+6+9=18/3(months)=6, but Money retrieves average=10

Another question: How many months are considered in spending average
calculations?

Thanks in advance
