| Ok. Tried that. No change. (Thanks for the suggestions, by the way.) Since they are somewhat tied together, it is possible that there might be some strange interaction. It's a long shot. Does your file have a Passport on it? Don't try changing your Passport while you are having problems. |

| I have already tried this on another machine. Are you saying that copying the file onto a flash drive is different than copying it via the network? Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the fix on that discussion you posted the link to was just to have money restore the backup. rr12 "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message news:29ufl11igin9gk27rv47nvsf1r99tnu9i5[at]4ax.com... - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, rr12 wrote: > > MS Support said I'm SOL. > > > I have not tried '06. Good. Had you said 3 MB, I would have been worried.> The files are 12.6 MB. |

| MS Support said I'm SOL. I have not tried '06. Is that really feasable that it could handle the file? Open of mny file = "Microsoft Money Error Reporting...We're sorry but Microsoft Money has experienced and internal error and will hav to restart..." The error occurs in myisam05.dll, 0xc0000005 (Access Violation) This occurs after I enter my password. Same thing with the restore. The files are 12.6 MB. rr12 "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message news:nesfl1dgj628bneatgl609vangs1ksvmad[at]4ax.com... - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, rr12 wrote: > > > > My mny file and my most recent backup mbf are corrupted and can't be > > repaired or restored. | Hello, My mny file and my most recent backup mbf are corrupted and can't be repaired or restored. My most recent prior backup is from May 3rd. I need to repair either my recent backup or my mny file desperately. Can anyone recommend a money file repair company; or better yet point me to a money file specification so that I can fix it myself. I'm a programmer so I'm willing to get into the file and remove the offending transaction or bytes. I can't help but think that this has something to do with the most recent windows update. I understand the corruption of the mny file (the internet connection went down during an online update); but the mbf not working? Doesn't really make sense. I've uninstalled and re-installed money. I've tried it on another computer. I've tried both the quick and standard repair. No matter what; it just wont open or restore. rr12 |
