| Go look at the Folder Options|File Types Open method for OFX files. You probably want to clear that out. Wasn't reinstalling WinME more trouble than that OS was EVER worth? | I had to reinstall my entire operating system (Windows ME). The whole thing was so badly corrupted by those two Critical Updates that it was just non-usable. MS Money 2006 now automatically launches when I download an OFX from the bank. Thanks for all your help. |

If the link at your bank's end is the OFX file itself, you might be> It's been working fine. > I have to manually download the transactions from my bank because they > haven't moved to the 21st century yet. In going over the associations for the OFX type, here is what I would do. Start-> Settings-> ControlPanel-> FolderOptions-> FileTypes Select OFX-- Open Financial Exchange File . Click Advanced. Check Confirm Open After Download unless you would not like the pop-up box. I think you should have the pop-up box. See that the "Actions" box contains "Open" in bold. If it is not bold, you can select Open as the default action by clicking the Set Default button. Click Edit. When you click edit, the application used to perform action should be similar to the following line: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2004\System\mnyimprt.exe" %1 WITH the quotes, and the %1 after the quote. The path will differ based on your installation. Modify for your setup. Application should be mnyimprt with the appropriate path. The easy way to fix this may be to reinstall Money. - quote - > I have finally gotten the TMP files to go into c:\windows\temp. Can't

Well this is only way I have done this and it worked great each time. Tried changing TMP extension to point to mnyimprt.exe. download the OFX file to a folder called MoneyImport then import the file into Money using Money's import function while in Money. I have never downloaded the file, then double clicked the import file hoping it would launch money and import. I'm not saying this is not possible, it might be possible, but I just wouldn't do it this way. |

| I installed Money 2006 Deluxe (upgraded from 2000) about a month ago. It's been working fine. I have to manually download the transactions from my bank because they haven't moved to the 21st century yet. Used to be, I would download in OFX format and the computer would ask me if I wanted to launch Money. I no longer get that prompt since installing two M$ critical updates. Since installing two critical updates on my computer (Windows ME) which have crapped my computer beyond all belief, I have not been able to get the downloads from the bank. I have finally gotten the TMP files to go into c:\windows\temp. Can't get it to go any further than that though. If I understand correctly the whole functionality of this thing, the bank is supposed to download to TMP file which converts to OFX and then gets imported into Money -- right?? Anybody got any idea what's wrong?? Thanks. Barbara PS: I've looked back in the Google history and have tried just about everything that was suggested. (I really wish people would go back and post a *SOLUTION* when they get a problem solved.) I've added various Microsoft sites to trusted sites. I've removed and added back the OFX extension. Tried changing TMP extension to point to mnyimprt.exe. |
