Yup, that's exactly what it seems to be...> what Bob said. Note also that the "File Sharing" in M05/6 isn't **file** > sharing at all. My problem is that the default machine where my Money runs is a laptop, and Invoice Designer as well as Invoice Printing has a conflict with something. Every time I print an invoice, Money crashes; it manages to send the info to the printer, so the invoice prints out, but it's annoying as hell especially if you have a few invoices that you need to print. While debugging this issue, I installed money on my desktop, and move my file there. Not only it does not crash, but it also runs faster and smoother. My plan was to keep the laptop as the main Money computer, but print invoices from the desktop. From what I hear here, there is juct too much risk for my taste... Back to "Compass rule Manager", I guess! Thanks to all for your answers. --Marcin |

| I've never had any trouble with it at all. Mind you that I keep backups in several places and the few times it has gotten corrupt, I have been able to fix with file repair. Also, my wife doesn't use it that much and usually when I am not at home. If I am about to open it on my PC and she is at hers, I ask first if she is on it. But it works fine for me. <marcin.s[at]usa.net> wrote in message news:1129008677.915420.249270[at]g14g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > Hi -- > Is it possible to have the MSMoney file in a shared directory on a LAN, > so that it can be accessed from two computers (each running a copy of > MSM2006)? | Money is designed as a single user app and there are no file locks so you run a grave risk of corruption. Provided you can 110% guarantee that the ..mny file will never be used simultaneously you can do it, but with so much background banking activity you just cannot be sure (and safe). -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | Hi -- Is it possible to have the MSMoney file in a shared directory on a LAN, so that it can be accessed from two computers (each running a copy of MSM2006)? What precautions need to be taken, eg., can MSM2006 on both computers be running simultaneously, is there a file access lock (like with Word), or is there danger of corrupting the file contents? Any insight into the subject would be helpful. --Marcin PS. I know of the "share file" feature, but I don't want to use it, since it seems to require that the file be exported to MSN first. PPS.
