At what point in the instructions > should I do what you are suggesting? part where it asks if you want to use Passport. Put on the Passport you used when you upgraded. If you are on dialup, give Money plenty of time to do the required downloading. If that does not let you updated, and if you are using XP, I would try creating a new XP user with Administrator privilege. Switch to that user and start Money with a new file. Put on the Passport you used when you upgraded. Let Money download the updates as that user. You can delete that user after you are done. Next time, buy the CD. |

Close Money. Restart Money. Confirm that Money shows the right version. Then click on your real Money file that is shown on the bottom of the File menu. |

| I purchased the upgrade to Money 2006 online and followed the instructions as well as humanly possible, but the Money still starts as the trial version which will expire an the end of this month. I tried everything I can think of which included following instructions in this knowledge base article: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;889930 After doing everything the article said which finally came down to uninstalling then reinstalling, it seemed to work ....at first. Right after the reinstall, it didn't say "trial version" so I thought it was fixed. But then, the next time I started Money, it once again says "trial version". Does anyone have a clue how to fix this? |
