Guest, you miss the point. (Anonymously I have been manually downloading qif files from Citibank into Mone 2002 and Money 2004 for nigh on 5 years. I upgrade to MS Money 200 Deluxe, and I lose this functionality. I am not certain whether your posts reflect a desire to suppor Quicken or a desire to support Citibank. I don't know why you woul mount such a spririted defence of Citibank unless you had a very goo reason to do so (were you responsible for Citibank changing their fil format? Probably not) The point is this: data downloaded from Citibank works fine in Mone 2002 and in Money 2004. It does not work in Money 2006 Deluxe. Wh not

Cal No offense but download the info the Automantic way does not work very well. I have tested every year and there are always small problems it seems. Check numbers dont download right or payee name is not correct or they dont download the memo field from the check. Only thing that seems to download correctly are the amounts. Considering Citibank gives you free full Quicken Integration with there "Everything Counts Account" there really is no reason to have to spend any time fixing the downloads that yodlee feeds you. I understand part of the reason Microsoft choose to use a 3rd party company called Yodlee is that they had no choice. Citibank is a major bank that simply refuses to support MS Money for whatever reason. Yodlee is only as accurate as the info Citibank feeds them. Maybe Problem with check number and payee field is Citibank not feeding that info to Yodlee into 2 fileds but combining them into 1 field. And the memo not download could be just as simple as Citibank not feeding them that info. But reason I am not sure about it is. Sometimes the checks number do download correctly into check number field and memo is correct as well and other times it total wrong. As far as Memo field downloading from Citibank in all fairness it only downloads if you have direct connect service. If you use web connect it does not download memo field.

With Citibank and Money 2006, there are two ways to get your> page or support direct downloads for MS Money. But because Citibank does not support Ms Money at > all if Ms Changed the way Ms Money works and and imports Quicken data > then Citibank will not change there files to support Ms Money as > Citibank does not support Ms Money at all. transaction data. You can have the Citibank web site download transactions and balance data to an OFX file. You can have the file associations, that Money automatically sets up during install, feed that into Money. Alternatively you can save that file to disk and File-> Import-> Statement. This method can be used whether or not you have a Passport on your file. If you choose to have Money 2006 get the Citibank info directly for you, the processing. With this method you have a Passport on your file to serve as an authentication method. You have Money securely pass your Citibank web credentials to a third party which looks at the Citibank web pages to gather the transaction and balance data. It then feeds that account data via Microsoft to your Money file. If there is a problem with getting the data from Citibank into Money would vary according to which method you use. The less automatic method is very reliable, but it is less automatic. |

It not really MS fault. Problem is Citibank does not code there web page or support direct downloads for MS Money. It is very possible that Qif downlaods from Citibank web page where working fine in older version of Ms Money. But because Citibank does not support Ms Money at all if Ms Changed the way Ms Money works and and imports Quicken data then Citibank will not change there files to support Ms Money as Citibank does not support Ms Money at all. Also remember Quicken discountied Qif support for all bank account in version 2005. I think problem your having is Citibank will not update there web downloads to support Ms Money 2006. There must be a reason MS changed the way files get imported into MS Money. Reason I use Quicken with my Citibank account also is because Citibank supports doing everything inside of Quicken. They have full 2 way support. So you can make bill payments and transfers money between Citibank account all from inside of Quicken. It also downloads all your account activity from your accounts. It will even mark when checks are cleared etc. Citibank has 100% integration with Quicken. Now I download my Merril Lynch account into MS Money. I track all my stocks purchases and sales in MS Money as Quicken Investment account support is very weak. For example Ms Money tracks my Sweep account fine but Quicken always has a problem with it and it always off a couple of bucks. Also Commsion and dividends and split get downloaded correctly into Ms Money and they never do into Quicken. Could be a problem with ML and Quicken but I doubt it as many other people have said the same thing Quicken is better for banking than MS Money but MS Money is better for investments accounts. I have my credit cards all downloading into Quicken alone with Citibank checking account all via 1 step update. At the end of the year I import my money file into Quicken and print out a consolodated summary for my accountant. So you could import from Ms Money into Quicken or other way around no problem. Also you could be a cheapstake like me and buy older version when stores blow them out free after rebate always on the weekend after thanksgiving ie black friday. Sometimes they even have current year free after rebate. Because of all the problems I have with my ML account I have considered closing out my ML account moving to another brokerage houses that does support Quicken better. But from reading on Quicken.com support it seems alot of brokerage houses have problems downloading into Quicken.

I just downloaded my Citibank data into Money 2004 - no problem. Everything showed up just fine - no hidden transactions This appears to be a MS fault. I read somewhere that MS ha "tightened up the tolereances" in their interpreation of OFX files don't know if they have done the same for .qif files, but it has mad their product unworkable This downloading feature (and the ability to synchronise with a PPC was a key reason for me purchasing Money 2002, 2004 and now 2006 I'm not v happy that 5 years of data is now unable to be updated. therefore have two questions 1. Is it possible to convert back to 2004? an 2. Does Quicken make it easy to convert from Money to Quicken

Citibank does not support MS Money. Citibank offically only support Quicken. MS Money support for Citibank is handled by a 3rd party company which Citibank has nothing to do with. As a matter of fact if you call up Citibank or go to there web page Citibank is very clear that they only support Quicken access. If you look under microsoft web page for Ms Money under "Is My Bank Online". It states the following: "Direct Services* are the fastest, easiest way to connect with your financial institution and have your statements automatically downloaded into Money. * This service is provided by a third party provider, not your financial instituition. It is only available if you have Microsoft Money 2005 or later. You will need to use Microsoft .NET Passport in order to access your account information. " So not sure why you picked Citibank if you planned on using Ms Money as Citibank offically does not support Ms. Money. I bank with Citibank I use an older version of Quicken just for my checking account then every year when the new version comes out I buy last year version for free after rebate at staples.. Then I use Ms Money for my investment account as Ms Money is much better in my option. I think the main reason Citibank does not support Ms Money is because they Issue the Quicken credit card so they must have some deal with Inuit which does not allow them to support Ms Money directly as most banks support both or none. Btw in the 10 years I have direct download from Citibank into Quicken I have never had 1 complaint. It works 100% and there is never a problem with it at all.

I also have this problem; it is driving me nuts. (Downloadabl accounts is one reason I chose Citibank as my transactional bank). have tried setting up a test account and downloading into that (to se if the problem is with a corrupt money file) but it still doesn work My next step is to load up 2004 and see if the download works withi 2004. If it does, then I'm ready to blame my expensive new Mone Deluxe 2006 Will report back late

Hello, I have seen several others with the same problem. I download my transactions directly from the Citibank website, and they appear to import correctly into Money 2006, but when I go to review the transactions the account registry is totally blank. I did the whole, clearing the internet files, but it didn't work. Any other ideas? I would really appreciate it, or I'm going to have to switch to Quicken! Thanks! Delfin
