| Cal, I recalled my message (apparently didn't work that well) because I re-read your post and you had already answered my question. Cal Learner wrote: - quote - > -----------------------------
Yes, you are correct that the end result of the above is no-change.> Does not do anything: > Delete the split. Don't do something with the transactions. Enter > the same split again. However, I tried this and when I deleted the split, Money took the pre-split transaction I had entered (100 shares [at] $10), and adjusted it to 50 shares [at] $20 and if I had re-entered the split manually Money would have just put it back to 100 [at] $10. So I didn't go this route. -- Himanshu |

Works:> delete the split information and enter it again...that might do the > trick also? ----------------------------- Delete the split. Enter the transaction using the pre-split numbers. Enter the split again. ------------------------------ Works: Have the split recorded in Money. Enter the pre-split transaction using split-adjusted quantity. Enter the commission. Enter the total, which does not change. Let Money compute the per-share price. ----------------------------- Does not do anything: Delete the split. Don't do something with the transactions. Enter the same split again. -- To delete a split,go to the investment details for the security. UpdatePrices-> UpdatePricesManually Look through the table and find the entries in the Source column that say "Stock Split". Delete the split |

| Given a company's stock has already split, and that I'm catching up on my statements from prior to the split, do I enter pre-split stock numbers for those older transactions, or post-split numbers? Example: Say the stock split 2-for-1 on Oct-01-2005 I'm catching up now on my Aug 2005 statement Investment transaction of "buy 100 shares" of Aug 15, 2005 [at] $10/share Should I enter that now as 200 shares [at] $5, or 100 [at] $10? I entered them as 100 [at] $10, and I saw an "s" appended to the price, but the quantity still shows as 100. If I attempt to manually enter a 2-for-1 split, it says that one split has already been recorded for that day. Money knows about the split probably because I update prices online, but it doesn't seem to show me that the 100 shares are now 200. Should I delete that buy entry and enter a new one with the post-split quantity/price? -- Himanshu |
