Default Re: Credit Card Payment vs Transfer

Thanks for your reply Chris. I think I will go with the special Credit Card
Payment category for now since most of my cards are already using this.

They are effectively the same thing, but you see the credit card payment
description only on the checking account side of the transaction. The credit
card side shows it as a transfer. It was added as a choice a few years ago,
probably in answer to many calls to support as to how to properly pay a
credit card.

Which you choose is purely your preference. In transaction reports, if you
choose to display transfers, credit card payments are included. My practice
is to categorize all payments to credit cards as the credit card payment
description, but it is simply a preference.

Default Credit Card Payment vs Transfer

Hello.

It seems that some of my credit cards are using "Credit Card Payment" and
the rest are using "Transfer". I'd like to have them all using the same
method.

Are either of these two Special Categories better than the other regarding
entry, reports, etc.? Which do you use and why?

Thanks,
Richard
