| What you ask is absolutely possible. I am using Money 05 and this works very well with my bank. What you are looking for is bank integration with Money. Some banks charge extra for this some don't. TD Banknorth works very well. If I enter an E-Pay in Money it is added automatically to my list of payee's on the banks web site, instantly, if the payee did not already exist, if the payee already exists it shows an E-Pay has been made. If I pay it on the banks web site it is downloaded automatically by Money when I update. If the payee did not exist in Money it is added, if the payee already exists then it shows an E-Pay has been made. Citizens bank charges extra for this therefore I am stuck using downloaded statements. The very reason I don't use this bank for E-Pay. If I did and didn't want to pay the fee then I would have the lag that you speak of. If I didn't want to wait for the lag to catch up then I would be doing it twice like you do know. But the lag should be minimal in any case. Hope this helps D "DietRite" <lowboy[at]comcast.net> wrote in message news:OzRV0ibwFHA.4056[at]TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl... - quote - > I have a simple desire. Actually, I did, using your own terminology. ***"It means automatic> specific "can I do this specific thing in M06?" the other (the one you > responded to) is the more general "What do they mean in practical terms > when > they say M06 works with your bank's billpay?" I also added "...but they may be blurring the distinction between direct bill pay, and bill pay that utilizes MS's association with Yodlee...". That does not change how you enter payments. What it describes is now MS accomplishes it in the background. |

| actually two somewhat different questions on the same subject. one is specific "can I do this specific thing in M06?" the other (the one you responded to) is the more general "What do they mean in practical terms when they say M06 works with your bank's billpay?" Note that you didn't quite answer that, either. It's fine to say something works with something, but what I want to know, and I suspect many others would want to know, is exactly HOW Money 06 works with your bank's billpay. I have been using Money with my bank's billpay for years, so in some sense it ALREADY worked with my bank's billpay before M06, i.e., I could use the double entry system noted below. What I guess I'm trying to find out is if MS's advertising the ability of M06 to "work with existing bank billpay services" is something new and advantageous, or just more advertising slop. I appreciate you help with that quest. You're asking this question multiple times?> automatically sent to my bank (Regions) and posted there. | I have a simple desire. I want to enter my payments in M06 and have them automatically sent to my bank (Regions) and posted there. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get this done. For several years I have been doing this: (A) entering a payment in Money (B) entering the payment in my bank's online payment program. In other words, I enter every payment twice. I DO NOT download payments from the bank (since I've already entered them by hand in Money). I upgraded to M06 because the thing I read said it "will work with your bank's online payment pgm." Well, the only way I can see that this is true is as follows: (A) I go online with my bank and enter my payments. (B) When they have been executed I download the bank statement to Money, which gives me all entries. This works, but of course runs way behind the real time execution (ie, I don't get it in my Money records until well after it has been executed, depending on when I dl. That would be fine except I prefer to see my account well in advance, to see a month or more out in front of present time, so often I enter next month's 1st of month payments in the middle of prior month. Thus my balance always reflects current damage and damage to come. I can do this online, of course, but would rather have it in Money first, online 2nd, instead of other way around. Any clues about this? Or am I just off my bean? |
