Default Re: Thermostat in Transaction Forms

We don't know why they removed it. Perhaps the FAQ is right. If it is, then
is it cynical to say that's why they did it? Your screen may be getting
larger and your PC may be getting faster, but the system requirements for
Money--beyond operating system--have not changed much in years. Money
continues to get slower. Many, many Money users continue to use what most of
us would consider slow machines with small screens--yet Money keeps devoting
smaller proportions of the screen to actual transaction data with every
major rewrite. One of the top complaints over time about Money has been
performance. One of the top--probably the top--performance drag in register
view was the feedback.

Open question to the group: why do you all think Microsoft removed the
register feedback from M05+??? I'll happily cite the group consensus in the
FAQ answer.

hmm - ok - thanks - but that seems to be the most cynical FAQ and A ever.
Anyways, with pc's getting faster and screens getting larger, the performance
and clutter arguements don't fly with me. Surely MS had their internal
reasons, but it is a vital feature for me.

See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=166 for my speculation as to why it was
removed. But at least you now have related links to get great loan rates
scattered hither and yon.

Default Thermostat in Transaction Forms

Why has Money 2005/6 removed the thermostat from the transaction forms to
track spending progress on user specified categories? That is probably one of
the most useful features in Money.
