Yes to that too, yet I see potential pitfalls in however that would
get implemented. A potentially tedious method would be to go modify
the Buy on each converted lot. You would record the conversion info
in the Memo, and change the Investment and number of shares. Leave
the total and date intact.

The first time this comes up, you could just change the Investment
for those lots, followed by an appropriate split. Thereafter it
would be more tedious.

If this were a tax-deferred account, I would just do buys and sells.
Having the performance data disconnected at the time of conversion
would not be all bad.

This is tax-free conversion in Vanguard to lower cost Admiral shares (all no
load!). It is a good thing!! It would be nice if Money had a conversion
feature. I can't use the split and then rename because that affects the
shares in another account that did not convert to Admiral shares.

Are you sure this is a tax-free thing? Some cases of "conversion"
are really just buys and sells where the commission is waived.

Handling a Mutual Fund Reorg or conversion from B to A shares.

If your mutual fund is involved in a tax-free reorganization, your
"B" shares are being converted to [fewer generally] "A" shares, or
a there is a tax-free merger where you don't originally hold both
funds:

1. Do an appropriate split of the fund. You will need to input
the split ratio a ratio of integers (1 ... 65535). Post the ratio
you want to achieve.

2. In the investment details, change the symbol.

3. Change the investment name.

4. Add a brief comment to the investment to explain the change.

This does not handle the case where only part of your shares are
converting. (You got sold again, did you? Think no-load next
time.)

Default Mutual Fund Converison

I have Monay 2006 Deluxe and I have a couple of questions for a Mutual Fund Conversion.

I can't just change the symbol because I have this fund in other accounts and it did not convert in the other accounts.

If I add and remove shares, my YTD return on the investment page changes as somehow it looks at this conversion as an investment return.

Any suggestions?
