| I've taken another look at this in Money 2005 and based on your comments, I hope to have resolved the issue as follows... 1. Changed my bill payment back to monthly 2. used the change loan details facility to modify the existing loan back to the original payment amount, etc. 3. Added an additional loan to my "house" asset, based on my current mortgage balance, using the new payment schedule of "every other week", setting the next payment due date to coincide with the real payment date. 4. Mark the original loan account as "Closed" so as to retain the previous payments. 5. delete the original loan's Bill series. Fingers crossed, this will resolve the problem - If I remember, I'll update you after next friday (30th September) Thanks for your direction - this may be the only way to do this. Thinking back, I recall doing something similar when I sold my previous property, paid off the associated mortgage and pocketed the equity! This involved creating a "suspense" or "dummy" account to use as a go-between. In fact, i utilize a similar method when recording ATM transactions withdrawing money from my UK Bank account(s), transferring it to a "USD Cash account" for use in tracking it's use. Thanks again "dlovrien" <dlovrien[at]gmail.com> wrote in message news:1126538921.230541.47470[at]g49g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > I cannot figure out how to do this in 2006 either. | Using MS MONEY 2005 Deluxe, I've been successful in converting my car loan payment frequencies and values from monthly to every-other-week. However, when I try to do this with the loan attached to my mortgage, it fails to change. Trying to change it by editing the Bill series gives me the message: --------------------------- Microsoft Money --------------------------- This Recurring Payment doesn't match the default Loan Account payment, so changes you make here won't affect the default payment. If you want to change the default payment, click Cancel now, go to the Loan Account's Account Details and click the Change Loan Information button. --------------------------- OK Cancel --------------------------- .... and choosing the Mortgage/Loan account > Change Account Settings Change Loan Terms fails to allow me to change this to an 'every-other-week' frequency. As an example: Mortgage, when monthly paid was 1000.00, due on 5th of each month. The mortgage is set up to use both Principal and Interest entries. Payment is now made to coincide with my pay check, every other Friday, with each payment now being 500.00 I've changed the frequency on the bill series to every-other-week, but I cannot change the amount from 1000.00. At present, the only way I can correct this is to wait until the payment hits the account register, then go in and amend it to the correct principal and interest amounts, choosing to "change the loan payment amount to be the sum of the loan split amounts" on the "Adjust Loan Payment Amount' screen. Help with this will be most appreciated. AdrianB |
