Money 2006 versions are only for North America. What I think would
work for somebody trying to upgrade an earlier Australian version
would be to download the Money 2005 International English trial
version. If you want to continue with that, buy the Australian
version of Money 2005 on CD in Australia.

You do not have to uninstall your existing version, as long as they
install into different folders-- which I think is the default. Only
one can be run at a time. The last-installed get the OFX and QIF
file associations.

Money is heavily regionalised and as a result you can't move outside a
region when upgrading. So US > US is OK as is UK > UK, but not UK > US.

There is a painful workaround - see

Hi Bob,

Thankyou for your response.

Based on your questions, I'm guessing the functionality is there to convert
otherwsie you would have said - "can't happen" .. ;-)

When I open the MSMoney.MNY file created in Money2000, I get the prompt that
it will convert and I click `Next' ... it runs through about 50% of what
appears to be a conversion and I get the error ...

"Money can't open this file because it was created using a different version
of Money ... "

I'm then promoted to open another file or send the error report - which I
have done and found no answer.

a

What makes you think that? Do you get an error message or something else
happens?

Default Converting MSMoney 2000 files into MSMoney 2006

Hi Guys,

I have a trial version of MSMoney 2006 but it doesn't seem to support files
that were created in MSMoney 2000. Is this correct or is there a different
way to do it ?

Also, it it does not support MSMoney 2000 files, what version amd I best off
using as I do need to access the old file ?

Regards,
Anestis[at]ement.com
