| The rebate card included in boxes purchaed at amazon, compusa, etc, specifically exclude purchases from wal-mart, target, costco and sam's club. That's because these retailers don't offer rebates and the savings are already built in to the purchase price. The product is the same. I imagine you'll see Best Buy added to that list over the next year or so. See attached story. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7357071/ "Glyn Simpson, MVP" <glyn[at]serf.org> wrote in message news:%23jjFdLjsFHA.236[at]TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl... - quote - > I couldn't say for certain, but I wouldn't have thought so. > -- > Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money > http://money.mvps.org > Check http://money.mvps.org/faq/default.aspx for tips and fixes for MS > Money. > To send Microsoft your product wishes see > http://money.mvps.org/wishes.aspx > I do not respond to any unsolicited email regarding Money > "WDS" <wds[at]reply.via.newsgroup.only> wrote in message > news:aQXSe.8651$VU6.1969[at]bignews5.bellsouth.net... > > Will this version be lacking in any components that the other versions > > would > > have? > > > "Glyn Simpson, MVP" <glyn[at]serf.org> wrote in message > > news:eQHrv0gsFHA.2540[at]TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... > > > If it has a different SKU, it'll be a not for resale version or a volume > > > license version or one with slightly different licensing arrangements. > > > > > -- > > > Glyn Simpson, Microsoft MVP - Money > > > http://money.mvps.org/ > > |

No consumers I know.- quote - > Some stores like rebates. It makes their sales figures higher, and
Relatively few people actually jump through all of the hoops and then call> there may be additional advantages I don't know about. and pester the processor long enough to actually get the money. (And some like Microsoft are better than other like CompUSA.) So, they can advertise a better price than the actually deliver to most customers. |

| I recently purchased "MS Money 6 Deluxe" at Wal-Mart. I've noticed that most retailers, i.e. Amazon.com, Circuit City, Office Depot, Staples, etc. are selling this for $59 and there is a $20 manufacturer's rebate. Wal-Mart's price was $29 but not subject to rebate. I've checked the product number and they show as 860-00391. The Wal-Mart version shows as 860-00394. Why are there two different product numbers and are they different? I'm having a problem with my installation and I'm beginning to wonder if I bought a "gray market" item! |
