| Cal, I've tried a new import in another environment (Windows 2000 with Money 2006) but and I only tried the file with the two transactions. Now it worked fine, I see the two transactions. When I import another OFX I already had trouble with from the beginning I was not able to see the transactions. What I mean to say is that it is not predictable if the OFX file will import the way it should, I'm sure it has nothing to do with the syntax of this file. I just can't explain why one time it does import right and the next time (other environment) it doesn't. I've read the threads above of the other users and I also beleive there is a problem in Money 2006. I tried the checker, files are allright: *** All line number references do not include header lines *** ***OFX 1.02 Add ~10 ***OFX 2.0 Add ~2 Running Data Through Parser No Parse Errors Reading Data Into Buffer Tokenizing Data Initializing Data Structures Analyzing Data Verifying Security Types Verifying Security Uniqueness Verifying FITID Uniqueness Verifying Sign Correctness Verifying Total Calculations Verifying Other Done Analyzing File |

And that occurs for the new file. Strange.> The one wich was working is having the trouble I'm describing now. There is an OFX file syntax checker available. See http://www.microsoft.com/money/fi/tools.mspx#ofx |

| Cal, You're right, I'm using the Advanced Register. When I look in the OFX file I see two transactions. I don't see them back in the record list of the bankaccount. The Bank Balance is updated by the two transactions which I don't see. As I described I have trouble with 3 of the 4 accounts. The one wich was working is having the trouble I'm describing now. |

I am not sure what you mean when you say Bank Balance or latest> different than the latest record. record. But whatever you mean, there could be a missing transaction or a duplicated transaction. There could be a future-dated transaction. There could be an un-cleared transaction that you entered. | I'm sorry, didn't work. Just imported a new OFX to the account which did work with new records. Now I see the balance changed but no new items to review. That is also something I don't understand. All 4 showed Downloaded: date, balance and items to review (xxx). Only one of them actually showed the records. (1x ABN-AMRO) The other three have the same problem as described above. |

| Are you restoring your old data file or using a blank, brand new data file when you reinstall Money? I think this is a corrupted data file. Try starting from a BLANK data file as Cal suggested in one of his posts, and see if the OFX file loads in then. Or > did you just see them in the review part at the top left? You have tried a lot of things. Much of this is repetition and it may not help, but here goes: Make an XP restore point with File-> Programs-> SystemTools-> SystemRestore in case this does not help, and you want your cookies back. In IE6 delete your browser temporary files with Tools-> InternetOptions-> DeleteFiles. IE6 Tools-> InternetOptions-> DeleteCookies. Then in Money do File-> RepairMoneyFile-> QuickFileRepair for good measure. Another thing I would try is to create a I would try creating a new XP user with Administrator privilege. Switch to that user and start Money with a new blank file (click Decline). Can you File-> Import the OFX into that new file successfully? The theory is that if the problem is an IE6 setting, you will get default settings for the new user. If you succeed this way, it would accomplish the download, and it would point toward the reason the other did not work. You can delete the new user later, and your regular IE6 settings will not have been changed. If that does not do it, I would consider reinstalling Money 2006 into a different folder/directory. |

| Hi Mark, Well I removerd the "s from all the memo feilds and still no entries in the register. I did see items to be read and the bank balance, which were both correct. The local balance was incorrect and no transactions listed in the register. All Of the FITID were unique... I attempted the import with both my normal money file and a new money file. Both failed. I have also completely wiped my system and reinstalled XP Pro SP2 and Money 2006 and still nothing. I called MS support and they went thru some different things and saw nothing wrong and told me it was my bank. My bank's tech tested a OFX file with Money 2006 and it work for him. He also said they havent received any other complaints... I know I am not crazy! They probably haven't gotten many complaints since the version is so new. Most people haven't upgradedyet or don't plan on it. Thanks for your suggestions. I am not sure what to do from here except go back to Money 2005 and try to get my "money" back...lol. I could take a good backup and get the problem with a download from Wells Fargo They also make QIF files, and the QIF file had the same problem. There were 10 transactions in the QIF file - I edited that to make ten files, each with 1 QIF transaction. That enabled me to see that it was credit card payments made via a scheduled transaction that were causing the problem. I changed the category on those transactions, and everything got better. Thus, at least for me, it appears to be a corrupted transaction, nothing to do with the the downloaded file, the cache, or any of the other stuff that Microsoft talks about. Note that once the Money file starts having the problem, I think you have to go back to a previous backup that did not have the problem and change the transaction category there. TM |
