| I'm not sure how (if) it works through Yodlee, but banks supporting direct billpay match automatically. | What BoA does is to assign a "check no" to the transaction to aid in the matching. The match however is not fool proof and one must verify that if does match it correctly. I accepted a download without switching the match and found that I had to delete the download and then manually download to get it to match. Could not delete the unmatched entry in the checking account as it would have messed up the register that is used to go back and see what pas paid online. BoA also charges for the privilege of the automatic download and the bill pay. Free if one manually downloads OFX files and uses web bill pay. I however was keeping sufficient money in BoA that was able to make a minor change as to where the money was placed and qualify for free account. Even got a free safety deposit box out of the deal so it turned out reasonable. | many thanks. my bank charges an extra $8 per month for the billybay using money or quicken, while offering a free online billpay service itself. i'll have to figure out if that worth the price of admission. | Yes it works this way. I enter the payment manually in MM06 in my case MM06 then uploads the payment to my BoA Bill pay. Prior to MM06 I would do as you say of going to BoA website and paying the bill there and then either wait for the download to MM05 or enter it manually in MM05. This is not a Quicken news group but the answer is yes to them as well. | Can someone tell me if it's possible to have online bill pay work this way? (1) I enter the payment manually in MM06 (2) MM06 uploads the payment to my bank's online bill pay function and enters it. (3) Or: MM06 uploads (by itself) the entered payment to MSN Online Banking and enters it. Thus I have entered the payment exactly ONCE and it is done. For years I have been entering duplicate payments, one in my banks internet based online banking program, and one in MS Money. I have thought of JUST entering the payments in my online banking acct and then having them automatically downloaded into Money, but this doesn't let me see pending payments in money (though I can see them at the bank's site). Also (finally) does anyone know if this can be done in Quicken 06? Thanks |
