It could be IE6 settings. As an easy test, create a new XP user.
Open Money and let it create a new empty file. Don't put a Passport
on it ("Decline").

Can you access quotes etc that way? If so, you can look to some
settings. Check back. I would have some suggestions for settings.

The theory is that if the problem is an IE6 setting, you will get
default settings for the new user. If you succeed this way, it
would point toward the reason the other did not work. You can
delete the new user later, and your regular IE6 settings will not
have been changed.

Default Microsoft Money unable to detect internet connection.

I am having an issue with Microsoft Money detecting my computer's internet
connection. The problem appeared both on my new installation of MM2005 as
well as the Trial version of MM2006. None of the internet releated features
seem to work, instead giving me messages to the tune of "connect to the
interernet and try again". Updates do not work, Microsoft Password does not
work, connecting to the bank websites to retrieve my account info does not
work.

The problem is that I *am* connected to the internet. I do not have any 3rd
party firewall software installed, and turned off the WinXP built in
firewall. No other software, including other products by Microsoft, have had
problems with my internet connection. IE, Outlook, AIM - no problems at all.
I can ping google.com just fine. I have no reason to believe there is any
problem at all with my internet connection. I connect wirelessly to my DSL
broadband.

Any ideas what could be causing this, or how to fix it?
