| I deleted every .mny file from 'My Documents' and created a new file. I let the update take place and then imported the backup and the accounts are still messed up. I think the issue here is that the money information that was uploaded to allow sharing between computers is wrong. I just checked it at money.msn.com and those accounts are incorrect. How can I turn this feature off? |

| What is the version no of M2005? If you installed from original media it is probably 780. You need to open up a new file - go online and let it download the update to 1105. Then open up your preserved M2005 .mny file. You cannot use the M2006 file in M2005. -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | Oh yeah.. also, after I uninstalled 2006 and reinstalled 2005 I get the error "cannot write to file 'My Money' file may be copy protected".. I click ok and the file opens up with all the problems. I have checked to make sure the file is not write protected in the properties and this also happens when I create a brand new money file or open up the sample money file and try in import my backup. |

| Hey there! Well.. I didn't notice anything too serious about the jump from 2005-> 2006 so I figured I would back up my data from 2005 and upgrade. The installation went smoothly and everything came up nice and easy. After trying to set up my bank of america card for 10 minutes I finally followed the instructions to upload my information to my msn passport so it could be used on diferent computers. No big deal, right? I monkeyed around with 2006 for another hour and realized that I don't really think it's worth the upgrade and uninstalled it. Here is where the problem lies. After I installed 2005 and tried to restore my backup, it asked if I wanted to sync the file with my passport data. I chose no because I don't want or need to use that feature. Money opens up my file and my American Express data is all gone. My investment accounts are showing weird balances. My checking account is somehow 1400 overdrawn. This isn't a problem.. I will simply reload my backup file and sync with my online data. The balances in my accounts WERE STILL messed up!! I have tried everything I can to get my accounts back in line (other than completely starting over). Oh yeah, Money seems to have lost all of my bill pay information too that was set up previously. Can anyone help me out here? I am lost without my financial information! Thanks in advance. |
