| Hi Deryn, Just happened to me with exact symptoms... I tried msmoney -s and it worked. If you haven't done so already, try that mode of repair rather than the menu item. -- John "Deryn" <kathrynh[at]earthlink.net> wrote in message news:1124765350.915405.196410[at]g14g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > Oy, you guys, I've been matching transactions since I first started > using Money several years ago. | No, I have been using the full version for a month or so. I tried repair last night and that seemed to solve the problem for now. | I am in the exact situation as "Deryn". I've used Money and done transaction matching for years. Upgraded to MS Money 2006 Deluxe a few weeks ago. Transaction matching was working fine, then all of a sudden, no matches. I've tied to match the transactions manually, and only bills to be paid in the future show up as options to match against. I've tried all the same things as "Deryn" with no success (restore, repair). The only thing that I changed was the date range. I was trying to reduce the number of false matches and changed the range from 60 to 30, and all of a sudden no more matches anymore. Tried changing it back -- even changed it to 365 -- still no matches. If anyone has any idea where to go from here, it would be much appreciated. I have other features that have just stopped working in 2006 and am beginning to get frustrated with MS. Thanks, ladi "Deryn" <kathrynh[at]earthlink.net> wrote in message news:1124576568.641564.228760[at]g44g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > Yesterday, working...today, not so much. > Today, when I try to unmatch a transaction, I can get to the "Change > transaction matching" screen, but when I select "Don't match these > transactions" and click "Done", nothing happens. | Hi Deryn, I'm sorry... the only time I've seen the "Done" button not work is when I'm matching something in the upcoming bills. The only time I've seen "Don't match these transactions" not work is when Money makes it look like it matched a transaction but in reality isn't as shown by a later screen. And the one time I had only future transactions show up in a match is before I did a repair - and then it worked. Your problem appears to be different... -- John "Deryn" <kathrynh[at]earthlink.net> wrote in message news:1124722725.098908.275520[at]g43g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > Tried a repair, didn't work. | I should say that I'm not mad at you guys who are trying to help me--I appreciate it. I'm just mad at Microsoft right now but I can't gripe at them. Well, I could, but they wouldn't care. |

| Oy, you guys, I've been matching transactions since I first started using Money several years ago. I am familiar with the process. I'm not doing anything different. My problem is that suddenly it is not working, that transactions that usually would be there are not, and also, separately, I can't click the "Done" button when I try to unmatch. It didn't happen when I loaded the '06 trial--maybe a couple of weeks after. I'm so ticked off at this point I'm thinking of moving to Quicken. It seems like I get screwed every time I download a Money trial. Happened to me with the '04 version, and I skipped the '05 version because I didn't want to deal with all this crap. I'm getting that no one has any idea why this would suddenly happen. |

| I have found that I can match against up coming transactions that are in the bill pay without first posting. Although I often have to hit change to get it to do the match against the one I want as the amounts are wildly different. In the case of bills that I have changed to the correct amounts in the bill pay, it pulls them out and matches them. | Tried a repair, didn't work. Tried restoring my backup, didn't work. I'm not sure how your first suggestion applies, as I am referring to existing (automatic) incorrect matches of past transactions that I am trying to undo by selecting "Don't match these transactions". The problem is, the "Done" button just doesn't work. Also, a separate (but related?) problem is that _no_ past transactions (already posted to my register) seem to appear in the transaction list as selections to match. They're not grayed out, they're just not there. I did not do anything to this file or my computer except download Money updates (which I do every day) between when it was working and when it was not. Please help--I can't even turn off the matching and this is screwing me up big-time. |

| For the first problem, apparently matches against transactions that are upcoming don't seem to work... you need to post them in your register first before matching. For the second problem, try doing a repair... -- John "Deryn" <kathrynh[at]earthlink.net> wrote in message news:1124576568.641564.228760[at]g44g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > Yesterday, working...today, not so much. > Today, when I try to unmatch a transaction, I can get to the "Change > transaction matching" screen, but when I select "Don't match these > transactions" and click "Done", nothing happens. | Yesterday, working...today, not so much. Today, when I try to unmatch a transaction, I can get to the "Change transaction matching" screen, but when I select "Don't match these transactions" and click "Done", nothing happens. The button simply seems not to work. When I click "Cancel", I am returned to the Account Register. Or, when I try to match a downloaded transaction, only transactions past today's date appear. Past transactions in my account register do not. Oddly enough, if I pick a wrong transaction, the "Done" button will work, but then I can't unmatch this incorrect match because, see above. Originally, I was using the '06 preview. I tried restarting it. Didn't work. Tried downloading the full (Deluxe) version. Didn't work. Tried restarting my computer. Didn't work. Using XP Home and IE6 SP2. Any ideas, anyone? Thanks, D. K. Kurtz |
