Many banks offer online banking through MS Money totally free, or at
relatively low minimum balances. If you're not married to the bank, consider
a switch.

thanks very much for the link. i am already enrolled in Regions.Net but I
had not seen the particular business about the extra charge to use quicken
or money. i guess for $8 a month i can just use the free service at least
until they make it unfree after the first of the year, if that's what they
do.

DR,

According to the following Regions page

http://www.regionsbank.com/everyday_...en_money.shtml

you can get Direct Statements and Pay Bills through Microsoft Money
with Regions Bank. There is an enrollment process and an $8/month fee.
Have you enrolled in this service with Regions?

You indicated you "set up something...thru money 2006 that
required...online billpaying login name and password". Was this the
login and password Regions instructed you to use during the enrollment
process?

Did you at any time merge the account you were previously using to pay
through MSN Bill Pay with an account created during your Regions setup?

Post back and let us know. Thanks.

Regards,
JB

That would be AccountList-> ManageOnlineServices

In M05, its "Manage Online Services" to see the services setup for each
FI. I believe its the same in M06.

I don't know how you'd determine it in M05 and M06. I run M04.
In that software what I do is:

Accounts & Bills-> Online Service Manager

In the "Services" column, if it says both "Direct Statements"
and "Electronic Bill Pay" then it offers both of those services.
If it only says "Direct Statements", then there's no way to do
direct bill pay through that FI.

It certainly works with some banks (Wachovia for one). Does your bank
support bill payment from within Money?

Default Non-MSN billpay in Money 2006?

One reason I upgraded from 2005 to 2006 (and it wasn't easy) was that 2006
is supposed to allow me to continue using my bank's online bill paying
service through Money 2006. I took this to mean that I would enter the
payment in Money 2006, click a button, and Money would send the payment info
to my bank. Well, so far it doesn't seem to work that way. Having just
gotten out of the death grip of CheckFree I'm not inclined to use MSN
Billpaying service.

Has anyone gotten this supposed "feature" of Money 2006 to work properly?

thanks--
