For Money 2005 OFX direct access, it is possible to turn on logging
of incoming OFX files as *RS.txt. The way to turn on that logging is
to create a registry key. That can be made by creating and running a
4-line file called ProvLog5.reg. Then download.

=====begin:ProvLog5.reg===============
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Money\14.0\On line]
"FLogProviderData"=dword:00000001
=====end:ProvLog5.reg===============

NoLog5.reg works similarly, but turns off the logging.

=====begin:NoLog5.reg===============
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Money\14.0\On line]
"FLogProviderData"=dword:00000000
=====end:NoLog5.reg===============

Saving the logs is easy. They will be in the same folder as your
Money file. Analyzing can be very hard.

Here are two easy things to look for.

Look for any occurrences of "<SEVERITY> ERROR". That would be a case
of the bank indicating the error, and Money simply passing on the
error message.

Look for any occurrences of the ampersand "&" character that are not
part of "&" or "&". That character is sometimes part of the
name of a business. It is a special character.

Would you like to give us a clue as what the error message is?

There is no intrinsic reason why Money 2005 should not accept your valid
OFX files. There must be something about the files which it does not
like - unless your particular installation is broken.

Try creating a new Money 2005 file and see if the download works properly.
From there, we can diagnose if the problem is in your file, your computer,
or elsewhere.

Default RE: OFX Files for Money 2005 Won't import correctly

Update - I checked another bank (normally imported via Yodlee) and tried to
import OFX file downloaded manually - SAME Error message. Can anyone help to
explain why Money 2005 has decided to stop accepting manually downloaded OFX
files?

Default OFX Files for Money 2005 Won't import correctly

I have one bank whose OFX file will not import correctly into Money 2005.
Can someone help by providing either an explanation or example of what should
be in an OFX file (I have run OFX Analyzer provided by MS and it seems that
the file is ok). Are "communications" important when importing a file from
your own computer (I am speaking here of RS and RQ files, the response and
request files). If so - how can I save and analyze these files?

The bank provider is actually Credit Agricole - a French bank. The
downloads have worked 1-2 times since Money2005 was installed - and as
everyone knows - I had no problems in my previous version Money2002.

Hope someone can help with a solution? (besides entering all data by hand -
I realize this is one possibility... though one I do not prefer)
