| That helps a lot. I'll just try to curb my addiction to Money and hope they post a patch soon. Thanks Bill. |

| I did some searching and found that a similar occurance happened around this time of the year in 2004. The following is from a response supposedly from microsoft ....one of our servers was updated and inadvertently pointed to the wrong location to verify authentication. The authentication process worked perfectly - we caused the problem by looking in the wrong server location. This mistake only affected Money services. (If you think of your login information as a key, and our servers as a lock, then we changed the lock on the safe, and the old key wouldn't work anymore. There is no way for the user [or anybody else] to create working login information. The good news is that nobody could open the local file because of this mistake at any time; your information is still protected.) It is likely that they did it again. Last year, after they realized what had happend, they created a "fix" for the problem and made it available to users. So, I guess, I am going to wait and see. Maybe MS will download a fix as a windows update. Anyway, that's all I know for now. Bill - quote - > > Bill, I'm having the same problem on mine. It worked fine yesterday. | Bill, I'm having the same problem on mine. It worked fine yesterday. Today, I selected "update now" for my bank info, and then got a strange message about my bank balance not matching due to a glitch in Money. I closed the program, and when I tried to get in, I received the same message you did. I've shut down and re-started, and I still get the same message. I don't know of any patches . . have you found any? Thanks. "bill" wrote: - quote - > HI > Anyone know about this? I open money the (2005) program. I get the > sign in page. | Ran into similar problem when reinstalling. Not sure same problem but.....did you perform recent install or reinstall? If so, try opening "sample.mny" then, if prompted by Money, let it go get any updates it says it needs. Failing the prompt, go to their site and seek any updates. Hope this helps. | HI Anyone know about this? I open money the (2005) program. I get the sign in page. I put in my passport number -- which is correct. The little light up progress balls work for a few seconds. Then I get the "the program has encountered a problem -- send to microsoft" etc. The program shuts down, restarts, then does the same thing again when I try to access the program. Any thoughts? Thanks, Bill |
