Stan;
If must update use the Standard edition, that is all you will need for what
you intend to do.
DO NOT download from Microsoft, which I'm not sure it's available. Buy the
program for around $25.00.
Make sure you follow MVP's instructions.

If using XP, create a restore point.

Copy your Money 99 file to Stan06.mny. Let Money 2006 convert that
copy.

I would download the Money 2006 trial, and tell Money to not
uninstall the old version. Pay attention to what you are clicking.

You should be able then to run both versions, tho the last-installed
gets the file associations.

If you decide to upgrade to Money 2006, buy the boxed set with the
CD. Buying on line can run into complications down the road.

If conversion does not work, restore that restore point. If you are
not using XP, you can still change the file associations back
manually. The file associations I am talking about determine what
happens when you click on, or download via browser, an OFX or QIF
file.

Default Much older older Money

Looking at some of the posts and replies regarding older version of MS Money
that MS will soon no longer support it my question relates to upgrading from
Money 99. What are my chances of surviving an upgrade to a newer version of
MS Money?. No interested in any internet connections or downloads, online
payments, just keeping track of savings, checking and credit accounts. Have
a very complete record of information other then some I archived, very sorry
I did. What conversion headaches would I encounter or lose, can't afford
that to happen. I might fit into the category of not being able to teach an
old dog new tricks.

Any suggestions comments appreciated.
