| I used MS Money 5 years ago, and I asked my Dad about the cash account. He used to teach accounting. He told me that using a cash account is a standard accouting practice. It's not that MS doesn't care, I think they just wanted to set it up according to standard accounting practices; and it's probably accountants who desiged this Moeny' MS jsut built it. Teh extra pennies that appear is due to the extra decimal places; I have not found a way to delete them, yet. | I also have this problem and it drives me nuts. If I were the kind of person who could easily ignore this behavior I probably wouldn't be using MSMoney to manage my accounts to the penny. | I don't think you're going to be able to change this behavior in Money 05 or 06. When Money creates the investment account on the initial download, it also creates the associated cash account and of course you can't delete it because it's online enabled. Is there any reason you need to have it deleted, or can you live with it? Fortunately in this version, you don't even see cash accounts cluttering up the account registers or most drop down boxes. -- "Christine Allison" <christinea[at]att.net> wrote in message news:3D3Ie.61754$5N3.12635[at]bgtnsc05-news.ops.worldnet.att.net... - quote - > I just converted to Money-2006 from 2004. > I recently set up an investment to use online services. | I just converted to Money-2006 from 2004. I recently set up an investment to use online services. Money automatically created an associated cash account to go with the investment account. I don't need or want the cash account and using the account details dialog I (tried to) uncheck the cash account box. Money via a pop-up advised I had to first disable online services before I could eliminate the cash account. I went through the required routine and after disabling online services I was able to remove the cash account. Now here's were it get's binding. When I re-enabled online services money restored the cash transaction account. Sort of frustrating! Am I missing something? |
