Sorry this posted twice. I hit submit and was told I wasn't logged in.
So I logged in and then hit submit again. I guess when I logged in, it
remembered my first submit.

Live and learn.

You're right. I hadn't noticed. After reading your post, I submitted my
next e-pay. It was scheduled for 8/28, but after hitting submit, the
date changed to 8/26. However, I didn't get any message such as ""your
payment to xx vendor will be paid on the 15th but will be deducted from
you register on the 11th." It just silently changed the date.

I am using Money 2006 and previously used 2005. I didn't really notice
it in that version either. I guess it was close enough that it never
stood out.

There is an option to change the date to "the processing date" after
the transaction is recorded at the bank..This is in Settings/Online
Service Settings. I have never liked that option, but it WOULD make the
date in the register the same as the date it was deducted from your
account.

Have done that. They have it marked on the date the vendor receives the
payment, i.e., the later date and that is actually the date my account gets
debited. The register is off 6 days except for some direct withdrawal pays
instead of the due bills page. I never know what my daily projected balance
is without painful calculations.
It is like driving with a sheet on my windshield. Microsoft continues to
screw up MM each year. The programs four years ago were better. Oh well,
keeps the programmers busy making change for the sake of change. They should
at least give a choice of how we want the register to read. MICORSOFT

Check with your institution to see if they are using the good funds
model....means that they will actually deduct the money from your account
when they send the payment to the specifried payee NOT when the payee posts
the payment. So eventhough the payee doesn't get the funds til the 15th,
you bank holds the funds beginning on the 11th.

hmmm, must be something new in 05 version. I have had three versions prior
and it did not work this way. If I put it to pay on the 15th it would go to
the register with the 15th. Thank you for your previous reply.

Can't. The software controls the account date based on the due date you
specify.

Default Date in check Register

Since I have updated to mm05, when I pay a bill the computer changes the date
in the register. It will state something like "your payment to xx vendor
will be paid on the 15th but will be deducted from you register on the 11th.
I want the date in my register to read the 15th not the 11th. That way I
can project my daily balances as they will actually appear. The payments
will actually come out of the bank on the 15.
